configure; make

## runs ok up to

gcc -O -g -I. -DSIGTYPE=int -c xstrdup.c
In file included from xstrdup.c:21:
/usr/include/strings.h:51: warning: conflicting types for built-in function `strlen'
Make:  Don't know how to make #.  Stop.

## apparently the line from Makefile.in
@LIBOBJS@ @ALLOCA@
## is not correctly expanded by configure (it is blank in Makefile).
