Hi,
this what I think is a bug in gnu tar 1.11.1 and the -L option for
tapelenght. I work on HP9000/720 HP9000/817 HP9000/425e and Next.
On the 817s I have had a problem with tar and -L 24000000 byte lenght.
I was using the level-0 script modified by me to include -L. The
program wrote (a very little) and kept prompting me for the next
volume. When I took the -L out it worked fine. Anyhow see what
you can do. Maybe ints are too small for 2.4 gbTapes
Thanks,
Sam Lester
