Under SunOS 4.1.1 (on a Sun-3/60), the test suite fails:
rdm@cfcl 6: make
cc -g -o grep dfa.o regex.o getopt.o ggrep.o
builddir=`pwd`; cd ./tests; sh regress.sh $builddir
awk: syntax error at source line 2
context is
!/^#/ >>> && <<<
awk: bailing out at source line 2
touch check.done
The failure occurs in test/scriptgen.awk, due to a bug in Sun's AWK.
One possible workaround is:
BEGIN { print "failures=0"; }
!/^#/ {
if (NF == 3) {
print "echo '" $3 "' | $1/egrep -e '" $2 "' > /dev/null 2>&1";
print "if [ $? != " $1 " ]"
print "then"
printf "\techo Spencer test \\#%d failed\n", ++n
print "\tfailures=1"
print "fi"
}
}
END { print "exit $failures"; }
Under SunOS 4.1.1 (on a Sun-3/60) and SunOS 4.1.3 (on a Sun ELC), the
configure script produces the following incorrect line:
DEFS = -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1
This cause the Sun C compiler to emit scads of error messages about 'const'
declarations. I don't know how to fix configure, but the line should read:
DEFS = -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1
