brennan@baker.ds.boeing.COM (Michael D Brennan) writes: The following setup with diff2.0 core dumps: GNU diff version 2.0 compiled gcc2.2.2 -O2 -g (does not happen -g only) sun sparc station ipc, os4.1.1 A bug causes GCC 2.2.2 (sparc, with the -O2 option) to generate incorrect code for the diag routine of GNU diff. To work around the problem, compile diff with plain -O instead. This bug was reported to bug-gcc in late July, and I think it will be fixed when GCC 2.3 comes out.
