This is utterly and completely wrong. No such thing should be added to fingerd. Instead, the call to htonl() should be removed from in.cfingerd. The poll protocol has changed from 1.35 -- the idle time is now passed in ASCII, as a decimal integer, no conversion to or from network byte ordering should be done. I just missed removing the call to htonl(); it didn't cause any problems at FSF because all the machines I installed it on here happened to be big-endian. This wart will be removed in the next release, along with a few other (reasonably minor) bugs that crept in while I was making major changes to the code. -- Jan Brittenson bson@gnu.ai.mit.edu
