   Hello GNU tar person!

   I just pulled prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu/tar-1.11.tar.Z (or something to
   that effect) and compiled it up on a couple of different systems
   (HP-UX and Linux).  For the most part it compiled up easily and ran
   okay.  Good Job!

It is important that people only send in bug reports for the latest
version, in this case, 1.11.1.  GNU maintainers generally don't have
time to figure out which bugs have been fixed by the latest release
and which have not--so save us the trouble, and don't send in bug
reports for old versions of programs.
