It fails to compile xgets.c:

cc -O -c xgets.c
ccom: Error: xgets.c, line 76: static function declared and referenced, but not
defined: strlen

Has anybody else run into this and solved it?  Please respond by
email, and I will summarize.  Thanks very much.
