GNU dd and GNU mt on a Sun 4/490 running 4.1.2 have trouble talking to
an Exabyte drive. (At least I'm pretty sure /dev/nrst12 is an Exabyte.)

I realize that without the actual tape in question, you probably
can't do anything about this, but on the offchance that this will be
useful, I'm passing it along.

	gnu dd if=/dev/nrst12

(console screen reported DMA on odd byte alignment)

gnu dd returned immediately with no data. This was after it had
produced data from the first file correctly.

	gnu mt -f /dev/rst12 status

returned bogus info about the location on the tape when compared with
/bin/mt.
