The last point is certainly a bug in ar. ------- Start of forwarded message ------- Status: RO X-VM-v5-Data: ([nil nil nil nil nil nil nil nil nil] [nil nil nil nil nil nil nil "Rob McMahon" "cudcv@csv.warwick.ac.uk" nil nil nil "^From:" nil nil nil]) Received: from life.ai.mit.edu by albert.gnu.ai.mit.edu (5.65/4.0) with SMTP id <AA28711@albert.gnu.ai.mit.edu>; Sat, 11 Apr 92 07:24:24 -0400 Received: from clover.csv.warwick.ac.uk by life.ai.mit.edu (4.1/AI-4.10) id AA13183; Sat, 11 Apr 92 07:24:08 EDT Message-Id: <8130.199204111121@clover.csv.warwick.ac.uk> From: Rob McMahon <cudcv@csv.warwick.ac.uk> Subject: glibc-1.03 - couple of bugs To: bug-glibc@prep.ai.mit.edu Date: Sat, 11 Apr 1992 12:21:25 +0100 X-Mailer: Mail User's Shell (7.2.4 2/2/92) This is on a Sun4, running SunOS 4.1.2 (aka Solaris 1.0.1), gcc 2.1, gmake 3.62. No GNU ld. io/fchmod.c has a typo. Presumably the `mode_ta' on the last line should read `mode_t'. time/zones-antarctica has nothing defined for antarctica-zones, and the library won't make because of this. I inserted `Antarctica'. A note in Makeconfig that `link' needs a -Bstatic if using the Sun ld would be useful. `time' fails to install with make[1]: *** No way to make target `zoneinfo/SystemV/AST4ADT'. Stop. `math' fails to install: it tries to create libm.a with no contents (`ar crv libm.a'), and then complains that libm.a doesn't exist, since GNU ar doesn't even create the file under these circumstances. (Bug in GNU ar ?) Cheers, Rob ------- End of forwarded message -------
