In 3.44, the default rule for building .cc files uses the C compiler symbol $(CC) rather than the C++ symbol $(C++). Is there a reason for this departure from the previous default rule? Using $(C++) is more useful. -- Dirk Grunwald Univ. of Illinois grunwald@flute.cs.uiuc.edu
