Re: Autoconf (GNU configure script generator) available

Hi,

	I posted a patch for gnufind 3 weeks back and now it seems it is more
applicable to autoconf. There are at least three (maybe more) systems where
this is useful. It regards macros in <sys/stat.h> which mistakenly assume
the following is correct:
#define S_ISBLK(m)      (m & S_IFBLK)   /* True if block special file */

This macro really should be defined as:
#define S_ISBLK(m)      (((m)&_IFMT) == _IFBLK)

The first case mistakenly causes cross matches between BLK and DIR types.

	I've devised a simple way to detect and remedy this problem and it
could easily fit in with autoconf. Please consider incorporating it into the
next release.
	I've included the text of my posting for gnufind which explains
things in more detail.
		Thanks,
