A parser generated by bison 1.18 won't compile with Lucid C++ on a sparc. The problem is that <alloca.h> does not get included because Lucid defines __STDC__ and defines __sparc rather than __sparc__. Here's a fix: *** bison.simple.~1~ Sun Mar 8 06:22:19 1992 --- bison.simple Mon Jul 27 10:11:23 1992 *************** *** 23,29 **** #ifdef __GNUC__ #define alloca __builtin_alloca #else /* not GNU C. */ ! #if (!defined (__STDC__) && defined (sparc)) || defined (__sparc__) #include <alloca.h> #else /* not sparc */ #if defined (MSDOS) && !defined (__TURBOC__) --- 23,29 ---- #ifdef __GNUC__ #define alloca __builtin_alloca #else /* not GNU C. */ ! #if (!defined (__STDC__) && defined (sparc)) || defined (__sparc__) || defined (__sparc) #include <alloca.h> #else /* not sparc */ #if defined (MSDOS) && !defined (__TURBOC__) James Clark jjc@jclark.com
