Ok, this is a (easy?) question: in the BFD based gld 1.97, where in the COFF BFD code (coffcode.c) does symbol definition and fixup occur? In my case, I'm trying to link SCO COFF (sputter and spit) objects together using the GCC compiler. I see the following behavior (after figuring out where a simple "hello world!" program craps out) - atexit() is called from crtbegin.o - atexit is relocated and occurs in the executable at 0x1fa. (According to SCO's and GNU's nm 1.97-beta) - When the code is run, it calls a function at 0x1f0. >From the executable created using the SCO ld, atexit is called succesfully. It appears as if the reference and the definition are off by 4 bytes, but I can't pin down in the COFF BFD code where this occurs. I do know that it occurs during sometime when the object and archive files are opened. I enjoy the hacking, but I've got to get busy on a business related project so y'all'd be so kind to point me in a direction, I'd be much obliged. advTHANKSance scottm -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Scott Michel, IntelliMED Corporation | "For the words of the profits were E-mail: scottm@intime.intime.COM | written on the studio walls!"
