While not (currently) a user of Gnu, I have to wonder why the programming utilities echo and xargs aren't in the same package as tee and test? Just curious, Wayne Pollock (The MAD Scientist) Internet: pollock@eggo.csee.usf.edu

While not (currently) a user of Gnu, I have to wonder why the programming utilities echo and xargs aren't in the same package as tee and test? `echo' is a GNU bash builtin, but to my knowledge, does not exist yet as a separate program. For `xargs', it is provided withing GNU find distribution. If I remember correctly, xargs was added to the GNU find distribution when options where added to find for working more securely with xargs. -- Franc, ois Pinard ``Vivement GNU!'' pinard@iro.umontreal.ca (514) 588-4656 ...!uunet!iros1!pinard Consider joining the League for Programming Freedom.
