GNU finger 1.37 doesn't make on Interactive Unix 2.2.1 using GNU make, because it doesn't have the .NOEXPORT target in the Makefiles to stop make from exporting all environment variables, thus ``overflowing the arg limit on sys V''. Also on the subject of Makefiles, make realclean doesn't remove config.status. Finally, it might be good to include rules to remake the Makefile from Makefile.in using config.status, at least at the top level. I use the following: configure: configure.in autoconf config.status: configure sh configure --no-create Makefile: Makefile.in config.status sh config.status
