a pile of statistical bullshit.  articles like the one you quote are not 
in anyway helpful. if i were to hit you on the top of the head with a 
baseball bat would it help if you had a helmet on? 

personally i think the helmet law is stupid due to inconsistent 
application... currently in and around where i ride rcmp do not ticket 
anyone. but it has happened on occasion. obviously the officer writing 
the ticket had  a bad day or didn't like the look of the rider or (fill 
in your own nonsensical reason).

but i use one on and off road. i like my helmet.
