Just great !! This is what we've come to ! Canada: The Krever Inquiry, paid for by taxpayers, is blocked all the way to the Supreme Court to cover the asses of those responsible for allowing "tainted blood" into the blood supply. The report has been stalled so long, it will likely to be buried forever because of a technicality. Janet Conners, a NS victim, fights all the way to get the report released. In the meantime, her husband dies, she plans for her son's future, develops AIDS, and goes $130K in debt to her lawyers defending the rights of the Canadians. She says she is sorry that she let down her supporters. Nova Scotia: a former politician is charged with multiple rape charges 20 years after the fact. He hires a "dream team". The team subpoenas everything imaginable that could have any remote connection to the case. This is for the PRELIMINARY trial - to see if a crime was committed. This drags on for a few more years. With any luck, they can put the final verdict (if there is one) on his tombstone. Saskatchewan (?): A farmer sells a truckload of barley over the US border without showing a permit. After he returns and is arrested, the law is then changed to make it illegal. He spends the next few months in jail and might still be there for all anyone cares. British Columbia: Clifford Olson murders a dozen kids and is arrested and paid $200K to locate the bodies. He spends the next 15 years in prison provided with a cell phone and access to the media, writing letters to the parents of the dead kids. Then he applies for and receives a new "faint hope" trial to show how remorseful he is. Now all the parents are required to travel to Vancouver to give reasons why he should not be let out of prison. Nova Scotia: The officers on a container ship are charged after they allegedly threw some refugees overboard. They spend a year in Halifax going through legal maneuvers at taxpayers expense. Then the trial judge decides he has no jurisdiction and throws the case out. Welcome to Canada, any former Nazi, murderer, rapist. This is our immigration policy. Just let us know if you need a lawyer, maybe a nice apartment., ...whatever. It's all on us. This is a country that relies on prison inmates to carry out our executions because our so called "representatives" would rather "rehabilitate" the scum of the earth ... but I digress. So - my question is: Who do I have to kill to get justice around here? Dave G. Note: Remove XM from email address for legitimate replies.
