Hello! A volunteer from Poland has worked tirelessly to come up with a new design for the Halifax Rainbow Encyclopedia and it is GORGEOUS. Please check out the new design - there's a link for a place for you to leave comments at the bottom of this note. Pages of particular interest: * Events in Halifax: http://gay.hfxns.org/LocalEvents * Documenting Halifax's queer history: http://gay.hfxns.org/HistoryProject If you have any comments on the new design, please leave them on this page (Just click "Edit This Page" in the bottom border.) http://gay.hfxns.org/WikiNextDesign ... and if you need a reminder of how ugly and plain my old design was, you can click on "Switch back to the old design" at the top of that page. -- Daniel MacKay Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Dan ... you have already been asked more than once to get my personal e-mail off this web site. Please do so immediately. Don't e-mail to tell me when it's done because I have your address filtered. I simply have no interest in e-mailing anyone who posts PRIVATE e-mail to a web site. There is nothing I can do legally. I am just asking you to show a little common sense and decency.

Ah, that would explain why you haven't replied to explanations, apologies, a qustion about whether you wanted /me/ to edit the material, or did you want to write it into something you found acceptable, or the note saying I had edited out the part that I assumed you had a problem with, and was that OK. Anyone, including you, can edit any page. All you had to do was click "Edit this page" at the bottom of the page in question, and delete or edit the material in question, and hit "Save." When you wrote me that note, I took a quick look at it, and it looked like a great start to a biography, so I pasted it in. And, I emailed you right away to tell you I had pasted it in: > From: Daniel MacKay > Date: 10/21/05 08:29:15 > From: "Donna Whitman" > Donna: > > [...] > > What we really need is a proper bio for her there, listing all the > interesting things she's been involved with since the beginnings of the gay > community in Halifax. > > I pasted in your email there as a piece of news about XXX. > > She is also sort of part of a Halifax Gay Archives project - I think she has > a lot of materials, it would be nice to get those accecssioned, cataloged, > and into conservation while she's able to help. > > She is easy to find -- her house is just 3 blocks from mine -- and I have > promised to take her to Jane's for lunch some day. I did catalogue the PWA Coalition collection > many moons ago. Only God know what happened to that system. So, I assumed you had read the part about me pasting in your note. But anyway, back to your posting: > I simply > have no interest in e-mailing anyone who posts PRIVATE e-mail to a web > site. Well, I explained that and apologized in email. Once again, I'm sorry. It was a mistake. Please don't let one mistake ruin a friendship of many years. -- Daniel MacKay Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Which is great to know, except that the poster didn't submit the text to a website, they sent it in an e-mail to an *individual*.
