Dear Sir/Madam, Recently I tried to replace my faulty internal CD-ROM drive (inside my 6100/60 AV) with an old creative 2x SCSI CD-ROM drive. Everything seems fine and I learnt from the Apple System Profiler that it was recognized as a NEC-210P drive. However, it simlpy did not work. No matter what CD- ROM I inserted into it, it could not even detect it. I just wonder if I forget to adjust some settings in the control panels or miss something else ...... Please help if you can, thanks. Wallace. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Learn what you don't.

The problem is that the Apple CD-ROM driver can't use drives without the special Apple stuff. FWB's CD-ROM Toolkit (CDT 3.x) supports pretty much any drive http://www.fwb.com
