Ladies & Gentlemen,

I am having problems with my CD-Rom, any help or suggestions to pin-point the
problem & solutions to my problem is appreciated.

Hardware : HP Vectra VL2 4/50 ; 16 Mb Ram 
                     Instant Tech CDAT-300X CD-Rom drive attached via parallel
                     port Interface.
Software :  Windows 3.1; DOS 6.2

I have no problem loading the CD-Rom, both DOS & Windows recognize the drive. My
problem is, when I try to access the drive from either DOS or Windows, the drive
will spin up, the busy light comes on, then it will stop spinnig & the drive
locks up. The only  way to get out of the jam is to turn off the CD-Rom.
The PC will then come back in DOS as read fail, in Windows as no files.
I can get the drive to spin up using the CD Deck program that comes with the
drive then I can get a directory on the CD once the drive is spinning. As soon
as the drive stops spinning. The same problem continues.
