Seeing Everbest's (local authorized ZyXEL distributor) advert for their ZyXEL V.34 modem in the Standard/Sing Tao computer paper (a local bi-weekly computer-orientated newspaper) mentioning a trade-in programme, I rang up to enquire for the details. Wasn't particularly hopeful for a good deal as ZyXEL's local distributors over the years have always been kind of greedy, I learnt that by trading in my ZyXEL U-1496E+, I would get HK$500 (US$64) knocked off my purchase of a Elite, which is around HK$5000 (US$640) in this part of the world. I said thank you and hung up. -- "Let's use this Fisher Price (tm) plastic hammer! It's so colourful and shiny--it has a much better look and feel than that ugly, heavy metal thing..."
