Hello, I have recently been exposed to a unique experience called "The Cinema 'n Drafthouse" It is a movie theater, that has tables and chairs instead of regular seats. The theater is a second run theater which means it shows movies taht have been out for a while, but are still good films(usually). The catch is that you can order food(beer, wine, pizza, burgers, nachos etc) and eat while eatching the film. The price of the food is very reasonable, and since it is a second run theater it costs $2.00 or less to get in. I am thinking of getting the rights to put one in the houston area, hopefully near Rice. Is this the sort of thing that people would be interested in? I am from Minnesota, and the one there is doing very well. Please feel free to E-mail or post a reply. Thanks for your help. According to the guys in Orlando (this was 4 years ago), they had started a movie house in Dallas and were looking for other sites. I don't know how they are currently doing but the idea for Houston would be unique. Jerry D. Price, Jr University of Houston, Center for Information Technology in Education JDPrice@UH.Edu?x

But instead of having live plays that show while you eat and drink you would have movies. That sounds like a good idea. But I would probably be careful about the movies you play. I would not recommend something to gory while someone is trying to eat. I know I would loose my appitite. How many movies would you show at one time? I mean at the complex not on that one screen. I am no buisness major. But wouldn't having tables cut down on the number of people that can attend. Thereby cutting into your profits. Don't get me wrong. I like the idea. But being that I am not in Houston I would not be able to partonize your establishment very often. If you do set one let me know and I will be there one weekend. Ronald A. I know I would loose my appitite. Yes, all over the table. This is not for me - I get annoyed with people talking in cinemas, much less munching and crunching.
