According to a reliable source, a vote is expected Wednesday 5/19/99 on
Ryan's Boondoggle - "Bilk Illinois". It is not expected to go through
committee - but straight to a vote, and will be attached to some other
bill.

This means WE MUST CONTACT OUR STATE REPRESENTATIVES AND STATE SENATORS NOW:

Let's get as many people as possible to call their State Senator and State
Representative at (217) 782-2000 and tell them to oppose George Ryan's
pork. Tell them we think George Ryan's Bilk Illinois pork project
stinks and should be killed ASAP. The switchboard operator can tell
anyone who their State Senator and Representative is if they have their
voter registration card information ready. Ryan needs a 60% majority
vote in order to get his state bonds issued, so persuading your General
Assembly representatives is key!

Also, let's call Gov. Ryan at (217) 782-6830 and flood his phone lines
telling him we won't pay for his pork paybacks. Tell Gov. Ryan to call
off his hogs.
