Emacs 18.58 RMAIL does not work under AIX3.2

Does anyone have a set of patches for Emacs18.58 will fix Rmail under
AIX3.2. I think the problem has to do with IBM changes to the way
/usr/spool/mail permissions are done (SYSV vs. BSD)

I have tried setting movemail setgid mail but it doesn't seem to
fix the problem and I've had little time of late to dig much deeper.

Any information as to why Emacs might be behaving this way would be
appreciated.

movemail: Permission denied for lock file--see source file etc/movemail.c

Thanks in advance,

		Ed

BTW - Please reply via Email I can't say when I'll be able to read News.

Have you tried re-compiling the move mail program in 18.58 under AIX.
As far as I know here in Folsom we are running 18.58 successfully.
If you wish I can check further into it.
