We're having a slight disagreement with one of our suppliers regarding the cooling of a 486DX50 computer. These machines were sent to us using a cheap baby AT case, with only one small fan in the power supply, and no heatsink on the CPU. I personally do not feel that the fan in the power supply is pulling enough air thru the chassis to sufficiently cool the CPU. The supplier does not feel that a heatsink is needed, and claims that they have 100's of computers out there without them. They're willing to put one in, for a fee. I'm looking for sources of information regarding this. Perhaps where I might find a copy of any Intel literature regarding this, or any studies, tests, etc. I'm interested in something fairly scientific, if possible. I'm just rather tired of arguing with these people. -- sheldon@iastate.edu Steve Sheldon This space left intentionally ICSS Resource Facility blank. Iowa State University
