BFH3 Wilderness Adventure Hash Saturday, August 21, 4PM Charles C. Deam Wilderness Price: $3 Come seek adventure this Saturday in the Deam Wilderness. I hate to upstage the Beer Witch Hash, but this is probably the spookier location, being in the immediate vicinity of two cemeteries. Take some time to visit your fellow hashers, who were unable to survive various similar events over the past two centuries. While it is not a full moon hash, who knows -- you may get lost and see a rapidly filling-up moon. Whistles and flashlights are recommended, just in case. Also, if you're one who wears bug repellent, you might bring some. I can't get back at the wankers who sent those wild hornets after me, but there are lots of pesky little gnats that eat your eyeballs out. Directions: Take 3rd St. (rt. 46) east to rt. 446. Bear right and drive 12.1 miles, crossing the causeway after 7.1 miles. Make a left amid signs for the Deam Wilderness Area, Maumee Reservation and the Blackwell Pentecostal Church. Drive 6.1 miles on a narrow, winding, gravel road, passing the last of 3 parking lots on the left (Hickory Ridge) after 6 miles. Turn left and drive an additional mile. Pull into a small lot on the left side. That is where the hash ends. We will travel together to the starting point. There isn't much parking and the gravel road may not be pleasant to all, so carpooling is recommended. Save plenty of time for the drive as no mercy will be given for late sign-ins.
