We have always enjoyed Kevin Burkes music and especially his album
"Portland". It seems that there are more Celtic Musicians over that way than
there are over on this coast. Kevin was (is) over there for a long time with
Michal playing. Triona stayed over here and played in North carolina in a
group called "Touchstone" and they carried on the tradition of "The Bothy
Band", well sort of. If you are not familiar with this stuff and you would
like to hear it please drop me a message with your address and I will forward
you a tape of it. Back to Knitting machines. You must program in the design
that you wish to knit. It is a matter of putting blocks onto a grid. We also
do it on the computer for note paper and letter head. what type of computer
do you have or have acess to? We are on a Mac so if you don't have one you
wouldn't be able to read our file unless you have a file exchanger. The
knitting machine that we use for this sort of thing costs about $1500 CAN to
buy. It is all computerso that anything that is programed in can be savedto
disk. We also work with a "programmed pattern device" which allows us to type
in designs and see them on the TV screen as we do the work. All very
facinating but not enough time to use it to the utmost. Do you play the
Celtic music at all?
Keep in touch!
