Paleoclimate`2U{earch With Freshwater Mussels.
My name is Keith Olive from Yakima,`7QK-=kon 902 S.44th
Yakima, Wa. 98908. 509-454-5848
My 8th grade class is doing a major rese8ych project using freshwater
mussels (Margaritifera falcata). We are comparing`tXMD_>oth rates
of modern specimens to prehist'ic specimens so we can reproduce
climate condizzons of long ago. We have access to specimUnkDB-?IX>/hyPXbAyears`ov\b-iould like to obtain specimens from other regions
around the world to compare to our region. They are found holarctically
so they should be in a variety of places. If you know of an area with
these mussels please contaczPmgZAo]y E Mpzl address is"wilsonms". If
you would like more info about the project send us a note. We'd love
to work with other areas in our study of paleoclimate and climatic
change.
We would also like to add to our collection of freshwater musselsMffw["jQywojZe. If you have shells from non-endangered species, we'd
love to recieve/trade shells. ` Thanks, Keith.
