What can be done to help students who reach secondary school (years 8, 9 and
10) without having gained the basic literacy and numeracy skills they will
need to function in society and to be employable?

I am a member of a group in the Queensland Education Department which is
looking into this problem. We would be very interested in hearing about
solutions which are used by classroom teachers, schools or education systems.

Could you please email your thoughts directly to me.

Thank you.
