--Educational Technology------------------------------------------------
Computer, tv, vcr, overhead projector, etc. used s tool in the
instructional process
--Technology Education-------------------------------------------------:
A hands-on, laboratory based school subject which teaches students
about a variety of
technologies - their history, use, impacts, etc.; and design and
problem solving
methodologies; and requires the application of math, science, and all
other disciplines.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are a few groups for educational technology and one for vocational
education
(bit. listserv.vocnet) , but as far as I can see, there is no newsgroup
specifically for
Technology Education as a subject area.
There is a listserv for Math-Science-Technology (MST) run by Jim Kuhl
(jkuhl@ocmvm.cnyric.org) and there are many Tech. Ed. web sites, but
there is no generally accessible on-line forum specifically for Tech.
Ed. and in particular no newsgroup that I know of...
1. If anyone knows of a newsgroup, please respond.
2. Is there interest in starting a newsgroup please respond.
Please send your response to me directly as well.
I would like to see a Technology Education newsgroup
(k12.technology.education?) and would look into getting on one started
if there is any interest at all.

I was struck by the phrase 'problem solving methodologies' Although not very high-tech, you may wish to visit my website to see how an on-line, self-help tutor text (with on-line math word problems...click for the solution) might work in a very simplisitic way. Yes, I would certainly be interested in a technology education newsgroup. It might be called k12.tech.ed . If it was formed, I'm sure I good get the message out to all the registered members of the British Columbia Technology Education Association. mathaid@earthlink.net wrote: > In article <361FA2D5.CF252169@superior.net>, > Pete Newell <techman@superior.net> wrote: > > --Educational Technology------------------------------------------------ > > > > Computer, tv, vcr, overhead projector, etc. used s tool in the > > instructional process > > --Technology Education-------------------------------------------------: > > > > A hands-on, laboratory based school subject which teaches students > > about a variety of > > technologies - their history, use, impacts, etc.; and design and > > problem solving > > methodologies; and requires the application of math, science, and all > > other disciplines. > > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > There are a few groups for educational technology and one for vocational > > education > > (bit. listserv.vocnet) , but as far as I can see, there is no newsgroup > > specifically for > > Technology Education as a subject area. > > > > There is a listserv for Math-Science-Technology (MST) run by Jim Kuhl > > (jkuhl@ocmvm.cnyric.org) and there are many Tech. I just wanted to let teachers know that there is a new site online that is great resource for educators who teach science, math and technology. The site covers everything from curriculums to guidelines for pursuing careers in computer / technological field. There are a bunch of other free resources available, go and see for yourself: http://www.intel.com/education?iid_itm:3F003& Enjoy - Sally -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum
