Yes I would... I'm just a beginner so feel free to correct me any time ... It
would be an excellent challenge... I understand that Scots Gailic is much the
same as Irish and that Welsh is much the same as Bretton... Is this fact?
I began an interest in Irish Gaelic when I became interested in Celtic art
about a year ago.. I have Mr Jim Fitzpatrick to thank for that... After I
began reading some of the old tales, I wanted to be able to understand some of
the poetry as well... After the encouragement of my family and a little look
into the family tree I was hooked.. But I have had no one with any similar
interest so it has been slow going... The tapes I have are great but They
can't tell me when I am Mistaken. I also have been trying to do some reseach
on the Brettons but have not had much luck in that.. My name is supposedly
Bretton but most of my ancestry is Irish/Scot ... The other names being Herron
( Americanised sp.) and Doakes ( the same) But I am Rambling...
But yes I would enjoy writing to some one with similar interests... May have
to switch to pen and paper though as my "normal" Profession is as a seaman.
It's hard to use a modem at sea. ( Not impossible but at about $10.00 a min)
As for other languages. Well I have an interest in latin. Studied some for a
short time in elementary school (A LOOONNNGG Time ago.) But right now think I
have bitten off enough for a time. I do read enough french to understand a
nautical chart but thats about it.
Well best get off this thing and back to my studio. Hope to hear from you
soon.
Oiche mhaith,
John
