                Environmental Group Helps Out

A community compost program has begun on Cobequid Road in
Lower Sackville, beside the Halifax County Correctional
Centre's ballfield thanks to a new environmental group. This
project aims to reverse and prevent damage to the environment
by removing compostable material from the landfill site. The
land now owned by Halifax County will be thought of as a
community compost pile.

Friut and vegetable scraps, left over baked goodsm tea
leaves, coffee filters and grounds, egg shells, pine needles,
grass clippings will be accepted for composting.
