When we first got together, we thought this problem would be real easy. We thought we could get someone else to cut our cake and then it would be fair to all three. We found out the person could be a friend and may have given their friend a bigger piece. Even if they tried to be real fair, they might mess up and not cut it exactly even. We decided that we needed a measuring device. We thought of string, making Y's on the cake , baking one cake per person, but found that we could use a protractor, a ruler, and a pan measured for a certain size. If we used a round cake, we would bake a cake 360 degrees all around. We divided 360 by 3 and got 120. We used a round protractor and marked every 120 degrees. For a rectangular cake, we would use a 48 inch pan, one side with 6 inches and one side with 8 inches. After the cake was baked, we could cut it horizontally with 2 inch widths in each slice. Then everyone would get one piece. Andrew Barclift I liked it alot. Jennifer Spencer Thank you for the problem and I would like to do another one. THANKS A LOT! Mike P. I like the promlem. PLEASE SEND ANOTHER ONE! Jasmine H. I enjoyed the problem very much. I hope we get another one. I learned alot thank you. Robbie Samuel I enjoyed it so much I want to do it again! Mrs. Scott-Thanks-it was a great experience. ---
