Hello All,

Welcome to a discussion of what should be part of a K-12 Computer Education curriculum. This channel will be open until September 30 or if we, in the northern hemisphere, get swamped by back to school things it may then the southern hemisphere folks will have to carry the load.

The first things I'd like to do is to see who is here. I'd also like to follow some agenda, vague as it may get. So can we do this to start:

       1. tell us about your school setting and the computer
          education that goes on there.

       2. is there a curriculum in place in your school?

Here's a list of 5 categories that are major curriculum area for computer education. I'd like to first have an idea of the areas that will be dealing with. This list is my personal opinion. What's your list??

                 1. Telecommunications
                 2. Word Processing
                 3. Data Bases
                 4. Spreadsheets
                 5. General Introduction and General Knowledge
                 6. Programming

Establishing a list of major areas, I believe, is the first order of business here. Let's get a list in order; then we can discuss them one by one.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone.
