Bangkok Project - Application of Electronic Communication for Distance 
       
         Education in the Third World Topic

Abstract:
This topic is intended to be a listing in addition to a discussion,
and depends fundamentally on the contributions of those involved in 
third world networking projects.
 
What I hope to produce at the end of the period (and this topic runs
the whole length of the project), is as complete a dossier as possible
of all known uses of email, computer conferencing or other remote 
access
to support distance education in third world countries.  Some examples
will include links with developed countries, but it is the use made by 
the
developing countries which we wish to highlight.
 
I trust that such a list (including a brief description of the
networking application and a contact person for further information)
and the ensuing discussion, will be of interest  to the distance 
education
community generally.
