Please, tell me if you know or if you have heard: does Borland C++ 4.5 use the long filenames under Windows 95? I have an Unix source with a lot of files with long names and I know that's possible to preserve those names if I copy the sources under Win95. But I wonder if this is of any good. Other way, does Borlan C++ 4.5 compiler accept and recognize the long filenames as arguments for INCLUDE statements, for example? Please, help me. Thank you Cristian

Wait for 5.0...it will release soon..... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Andy Ho-Fan Chan email: hoc@ics.uci.edu Information & Computer Science eaiu678@ea.oac.uci.edu University of California, Irvine http : //www.ics.uci.edu/~hoc ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are 2 ways to write bug-free programs; only the 3rd way works

The README file tells you not to use long filenames when installing it - I'm not sure about the code, though. The common dialog boxes are Windows 3.x style and only support 8.3 filenames. However, this is COMPLETELY off topic in this Demon IP support group (which is for local Demon connectivity issues). Please post your queries to comp.os.ms-windows.win95.* in future. Or uk.comp.os.win95 which I believe is less busy
