"Guatemala Signals New Readiness for Business"

- CanadExport, Dept. of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, March 17, 1997

--------------------------------------------------------------------

egroup, inc. is an Ottawa based Internet training and consulting firm. We have
developed the first (and only) web site devoted exclusively to
Canadian-Guatemalan trade, travel and commerce. It is available at
http://www.xela.net

We welcome personal and commercial contributions to our site. If you are from
Guatemala, have been to Guatemala or if your business or organisation is active
in Guatemala, we want to hear from you! There are three ways in which you can
participate:

1) General comments about Xela.Net! which would help us improve the site.
	- were you interested in learning about the need for this site?
	- what do you think of the presentation (content, style, navigability)?
	- is there any extraneous material?
	- what material do you feel is missing?

2) Share your personal experiences from Guatemala. Do you have a story about a
region of the country? What Canadian information do you think Guatemalans
looking at the site would like to see? Do you have a photojournal that you'd
like to share with others? As this is on a volunteer basis, all material
remains your copyright, and there is *no* financial compensation for using your
material.

3) Your business or organisation may sponsor our development time and resource
allocation towards this project. For a one-time fee of $100 your firm may
sponsor relevant interesting information about the site (i.e. a Trading House
might contribute information about export/import to/from Guatemala). You will
receive an advertisement page on the sponsors section of the site in return.

Xela.Net! has received over 50,000 hits - since its inception - with virtually
no promotion. This is clearly a resource that is interesting and widely used.
You are welcome to contribute information in English and/or French and/or
Spanish. Please limit your content to strictly Canadian-Guatemalan interests.

If you would like to contribute information, please submit a short e-mail
outlining your idea to:
