i think people are missing a point about the university health clinic.
it's usefulness is not in direct service, but as a REFERENCE resource.

they could probably direct you to doctors accepting patients

also, many many years ago, my mother's doctor ALSO did work at
the university clinic. perhaps now days the doctors at the clinic
also have private practice.

the local (underfunded) health unit also probably gives
references. look in your blue pages of your favourite local-service
phone service provider.

when asking for references, dont be afraid to state what you are looking
for. (years of experience, reputed bedside manner, busy caseloads,
works closely with a co-doctor to cover vacation times, etc...)
