Does anyone live near the newly proposed women prison that's going up in south
Kitchener?
I used to live across the street from the Doon Heritage Crossroads centre
(which is going to be right next door to the prison). Across the street from
the prison is a row of houses backing onto Homer-Watson.
What do these clowns mean when they say it's not in a residential
neighbourhood? Just because the closest houses are across a two lane road?
Perhaps a 30 second walk?
Personally I don't think that was a very smart choice when there is land
available on the outskirts of the town with no body around it. An even better
idea, one that should have been put forward a long time ago would be to put
them all in 1 central *ISLAND* isolated somewhere... up north! Who cares about
their rights? Why does the prisons have to be scattered around the country...
so that they can be closer to whatever friends/family they have? Nah, just
doesn't cut it.
