In article <BvE6r7.30n@undergrad.math.waterloo.edu> bjpocock@undergrad.math.waterloo.edu (Beastor the Mad) writes: >>>practically no capital. The business is in distribution networking, and >>>is really easy to do. >> >>Can you say Amway? NuSkin? Network Marketing? Multi-level Marketing? >> >Yes, in fact it is Amway. Why you dislike it so much is beyond me. Then >again, just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people won't like >it. hmmm, amway, didn't they get nailed big time for defrauding Customs and Excise? interesting that it took 3 or 4 articles for you to actually state the name of this wonderful company. why is it that when someone starts promoting amway, nuskin, NSA, etc, they will not tell you what it is. Amway and many other MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) organizations are constantly restructuring to keep ahead of the Pyramid Scheme laws. My uncle, who is involved in several MLM's, is quite happy most zealous about them. he actually was in ivolved in the start up of Bestline, which eventually was shut down for Pyramid Scheme infractions. they work for some people, they don't for others. the big problem is that MLM's are more about the distribution of profits, than about the actual products. amway has a few items that i like, and i would purchase them more often if i didn't have to forcibly cut off the "This is an unbelieveable opportunity" rhetoric every time i wish to refill my order. i have had many hours of my time wasted by potential contract business clients calling me up and saying "let's do lunch, i have some ideas i want to throw past you." if you are proud about amway, and it is really such a good thing, say it out loud. why do you insist on hiding it? >If you read this article and think there is a huge MARKETING aspect to it, >your wrong. I've never sold any products to anyone other then myself >and my family. just what they hell kind of money can you earn if you don't sell your products? buying product from yourself does not sound like a very solid business plan. >I'm not trying to sell anyone anything... those that are interested will >reply. Those that are not, won't. Those that are interest will go to >a meeting for an hour or I'll come over and tell it to you personally. >Then, if they dislike it, fine. I imagine there are quite a few people that >are interested in this type of thing. there is a general feeling amongst the USENET feeling that postings of a commercial type are frowned upon, unless they contain information deemed useful to the group posted to. since your article(s) contain no real information, i am insulted that you would use other people's equipment/time/money to push this shit. >BTW, Amway has a growth rate of 45% a year for the last decade... far beyond >any other corporation. This in itself should show that this is not a trend, >and will continue to do so for a little while. crack cocaine sales have seen an even larger growth, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is a good thing. >I'm not defending Amway, if >you don't want to do it, no problem. Just don't let people who are close- >minded change your mind. Remember, if you were to start up any business, many >people would think that you didn't have a chance. judging from the fervor(sp?) and zeal of MLM types, i would wonder if this is a business, or a religious cult? -- [ Jim Mercer Reptilian Research merce@iguana.reptiles.org +1 519 893-6085 ] [ I don't want to work for a company that has a CIO. ] [ Disclaimer!
