TV reception using an Antenna

With the latest Cable increase, we've decided to look into alternatives.
One of the options that we're looking at is mounting an antenna on the
roof or in the attic. Since the two channels that we watch most are
UHF channels from Buffalo (PBS on 17 and Fox on 29), I'm wary about whether
or not it will be feasible to get these stations. Will it work? If not,
will I have any problems getting Toronto (VHF and UHF), Hamilton, and London?
