The gentleman who drilled holes in the Xerox 8R7638 cartridge is very much misinformed. This cartridge offers the biggest saving of all when refilled - properly; up to $US411.00 with our 8 refill kit. Close the drilled holes with duct tape or hot glue, stand the cartridge head down in an old mug with 3/4" steaming hot water. A mug or tumbler works best as print head is offset at the corner - angle it downwards so that it's at the lowest point in the mug. Blot head with a folded paper towel till a thick unbroken line of ink appears on the towel. Refill by gently prying off the side panel nearest the head with a fine pen knife, it's not glued. Then inject up to 25ml ink (it holds 40ml but will always have some ink in the sponge inside) You can see the hole to refill about dead center in the plastic housing, not the white metal plate close to the hole. Sponge is doughnut shaped, and you are at the center with the needle, so you can't feel the sponge. Side panel should snap back on, or use small piece of Scotch Tape. Image Control has 8 refill kits for these Workcentre 250/ 450 & fax types $US19.00 or $Can29.00. Over 8000 more makes and models of inkjet cartridge refill kits, and generic replacement toner cartridges for laser printers, fax and small copiers at our web site link, below Image Control, 1396 Kingston Rd.
