Where did I make the assertion (raw fish == sushi)?
And note the smiley face.

1. raw fish == sashimi
2. seasoned(vinegared) rice == sumeshi
3. sumeshi + "something" == sushi

  1 != 3.
  2 != 3.

As for that "something", it DOESN'T HAVE TO BE FISH, but (and
here's where my opinion and smiley's come in :)) it's kind of
boring and tasteless without it.  I'll take pickled, cooked, or
raw fish with sumeshi any day.
