There is this trendy Thai restaurant in Santa Monica that I'd like
to recommend to the netters. It's called "Pataya Cafe", it's at
the corner of Wilshire & Lincoln. They have lunch buffet daily that
has over 20 items. I'm a Thai person myself, and I'd like to say
that the food is very good, including the curry dishes. The price
per person is only $5.95 on weekdays and $6.95 on weekends. If you
happen to be in the area between 11am and 2pm, you got to stop by
and sample their many dishes.
In addition, on Friday and Saturday nights, they have a Thai "Elvis"
impersonator singing (not lipsync) at the front bar. I've heard him
sing, and I was quite impressed with his voice, although he does not
look much like Elvis aside from the outfit. They also have the karioke
machine there if you like that kind of stuff.
Warning: You might be tempted to overeat at the buffet. I took my
co-workers for lunch several times, and a few people didn't
like it too much because they lost control and overate.
