I noticed some places do good Pad Thai, some do good mint leaves, some do good Tom Kah Kai, etc., etc. My favorite is/was Erawan at Colfax and Magnolia in North Hollywood area. There is Erawan 2 on Ventura Blvd which is supposed to be the same. They have excellent Chicken curry (with eggplant). Also we like their pad thai. I've noticed there are mainly 2 schools of Pad Thai ... reddish and whitish. This one is whitish. Their Tom Kah Kai is not the best, though. We've been to quite a few in the Valley, the West side, and southern Orange County, (even Thousand Oaks area), but Erawan is still our favorite. Some other favorites: Star of Siam (I can't remember exactly... it's been a while) on Lincoln (east side of street) in Venice or Santa Monica. Good squid dishes. Chan Dara (I think that was the name) near the Cineramadome in Hollywood. -- Yoke (Yokichi) Tanaka Togai InfraLogic, Inc.
