After this, I just had to have breakfast at Millie's (and get bread at
the La Brea Bakery.  Oh! the joys of unemployment!)  I'm sorry to say
that the place is safe for the folks from Toledo; the walls are now
filled with childish paintings by Zachary Something, all for sale.
(Most have been sold, so hurry.)

But Millie's (at 3524 Sunset) is quite a find.  It's a funky little
neighborhood restaurant, where everyone gets a friendly "good morning!"
and where it's ok to read the paper after all the food is gone.  I
especially liked the way they did their potatoes.  I never eat potatoes
for breakfast if I can avoid it (spare me the hash browns and grits and
all that), but these were just spicy enough.  The cappuccino was
decent, too.  Millie's seems to come alive later than most breakfast
joints, when the local artists decide to wake up.  Recommended.
