Because she 1) appears to be as stupid as a snail, 2) hasn't really ever
shown even a superficial knowledge of anything about food or food
preparation, ever -- you've got 10 minutes to de-bone, butterfly, and
stuff a leg of lamb, Meg, or 20 to explain how it should be done, or 3)
should demonstrate her knowledge of worldwide food by explaining the
various tastes and textures among the shrimp in New Orleans gumbo, in
Valencian paella, and in Hong Kong dim sum's har-gow.  I could easily do
all three without blinking and I haven't had any technical cooking
training at all.  #1 I could forgive, but the other two in these kinds
of foodie forums are ridiculous.  Unless the idea is to share peanut
butter and jelly sandwich recipes or tips on how long to leave her
strawberry poptarts in the toaster oven or what's the best Wendy's on
her way home from work, why is she here?
