Too lazy to use his text editor, Peter L <peterl68@hotmail.com> center-posted: > There is no such thing as a good durian. They are all vile. About a decade ago, somebody in alt.tasteless sent me a can of durian "puffs" (for lack of a more descriptive term) as a gag gift. The durian fruit had been discussed in that newsgroup not long before. The things were basically spherical crackers, snack food that resembled Kix cereal, only with pieces that were maybe twice the size. When I opened the can, the odor was nothing remarkable, sort of oniony/vinegary. And the pieces tasted like nothing so much as those little cocktail onions, the ones that are used in Gibsons or sold canned and mixed with peas by Green Giant or S&W or whoever it is. I still have yet to really grasp why durian is such a big deal in the Far East. Geoff -- "Mormon Family Trying To Ignore Dog's Huge Boner" -- The Onion
