Well, I ordered a genuine smithfield ham from Amazon. It is great. It was about four dollars per pound, and a flat rate for shipping. Ten bucks

The Gwaltny Ham, owned by Smithfield, as is Luter's, is available at Ranch 99 for 4$/lb, and you can choose the one you want! Think about the picnic, for $3/lb and smaller. Beware, and/or think about the following. They are very difficult to cook satisfactorily. They end up stringy and dry. Read Julia Child about this. That parallels my own experience trying to do the same. The next time I buy one it will be fully cooked!
