There were objections to a recent article on Slate that counted Iran as an Arab nation.  The basis of these objections is for Iranians to wash their hands of the recent attack on the United States.

Iran is still an anti-American state and has been for twenty years; the American flag is burned and trounced on there almost daily. So at this juncture, what difference does it make whether we call it an Arab nation or not? They are an enemy either way.

There are half a million Iranian nationals living on U.S. soil, many illegally, most ungratefully, some of whom are terrorists waiting for orders, and none of whom belong here, in my opinion.

As we go about the process of eradicating our enemies, let's not quit before we're done with Iran. Whether one considers them Arabs or not is not really an issue.

What happened on September 11 should not be labled "tragic events" or any other euphemism. It was, unquestionably, an attack, and the Iranians were snickering and passing out cake just as the Palestinians, et. al.
